Optical microscopy to study single nanoparticles electrochemistry: From reaction to motion

چکیده

Nanoparticles (NPs)-based electrochemical devices are generating a growing interest and optical microscopy has recently proven to be powerful tool apprehend their behavior. Through several striking examples, this review demonstrates how label-free imaging coupled an actuation can used probe operando the physical properties of single NPs, with high resolution sensitivity without additional emitters. Such approach particularly relevant establish clear structure-motion/reactivity relationships required optimize NPs exploited as electrode materials.

Electrochemistry of Single Nanoparticles via Electrocatalytic Amplification

I m honored to have this special issue dedicated to the 2008 Wolf Prize in Chemistry, and I thought it would be appropriate to submit a paper on a topic related to the work mentioned for that award, i. e. , single molecule detection. The possibility of observing and studying single molecules or individual nm-size particles is a rather recent one (barely 20 years old), but one of immense importa...

Nanoelectrodes reveal the electrochemistry of single nickelhydroxide nanoparticles.

Individual Ni(OH)2 nanoparticles deposited on carbon nanoelectrodes are investigated in non-ensemble measurements with respect to their energy storage properties and electrocatalysis for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Charging by oxidation of Ni(OH)2 is limited by the diffusion of protons into the particle bulk and the OER activity is independent of the particle size.
